My peeping tomcats — Brooklynian

My peeping tomcats

edited November -1 in Brooklyn Pets
I have some great kitty tenants in my backyard and they have become really bold lately I just wanted to share some of these cute pictures of them.

This one we call Shady. (He has a bro/sis that looks just like him but skinnier and we call him Slim). Shady has started to let me pet him but only from the window:

This is Greedy. We named him/her that because Greedy always takes the treats before anyone can get some. He/she was checking me out one day and kept tilting his head like he was posing so I took his picture

He followed it up with this great pose for me

  • So cute! They look like one of my peeping tomcats....although one of mine is giving me problems. He comes to the window every day and starts growling at La Terrorista. She is on the inside and starts howling and then they start screaming at each other. I don't know what to do about it as I like to let her get some air and she likes to sit by that window.

I have another visitor who is GORGEOUS. Huge, hairy and has orange eyes. Seems friendly, but shy. Not as bold as the oreo who is sniffing around my girlie.
  • Great photos!
  • HOW CUTE!!!!! I love these guys. I saw an orange tabby today in my yard. Is this someone's cat or another feral? His ear wasn't tipped..

Is this in the new place? Maybe if you leave it open a little bit they can get the scent of each other and make friends? Maybe its Restless Native's cat who doesn't like any newcomers ;)

Does the orange one have a crooked tail? If so he has been around for quite a while. He used to be part of another little group that was hanging out in the yard before the babies that are there now.

I can tell when you are in your yard or when you make noise because they all run to the top of my little shed and stare over at your yard. Its so cute.

No, I know that old man. This one's younger (maybe 1 to 2 years old). I saw him down on Dean between Underhill and Vandy the other night. I think he's a feral. He's on my list for the next TNR unless I find out he's someone's. Maybe he's Cheeto's dad?

HA! Those spoiled brats! I can't believe that I feed them in your yard and then they come to my yard and eat the food I leave for the other ferals. No wonder they look so good!

I've gotta update the Bergen Babies blog because that colony is just like these guys. As soon as I walk into the lot and start talking to them they come out their hiding places and follow me to their feeding station. So cute!

Oh and you need to come by and see one of the babies from the lot. I've nicknamed him Damien because he's so evil. I'm going to break him though... Oh I'm going to MAKE him love me.
  • OMG is Damien the white with black spots? Thats the one we saw running with the potato chip bag on his head :)

I finally saw the orange one

He seems really clean for a feral and I think he/she may become a regular. That spot he/she is on is called the "hot spot" (because its right above the boiler) and all the cats curl up in that corner when its cold. I think he/she is making themselves comfortable.
  •
this one. So cute, but so evil.

Can you tell if the orange guy has his ear tipped?
  • OMG I want to bite his little nose!!

Orange guy/gal definitely does not have his ear tipped.
  • Wait, a kitty with a potato chip bag on his head? Why are there no pictures of this? :)

That orange one looks like one of the cats I've been feeding down the street from me. I've only seen him 2 or 3 times and not too close, he's a wary one. But he knows I feed him, one night he sat across the street waiting for me to fill up the bowls.

I wish - it was the cutest thing.

It could be. He doesn't seem that scrawny for a feral and we are only like 4 blocks away from each other.

PS Lulu's mom - Brandon is dying to come over and see the kitten - maybe this weekend?
  • Hmmm... we should get him trapped and fixed. I'll find out when the next van is and we'll discuss. No more PH babies!

But of course! I should be around most of the day on Sunday. Just give me a call, I'll PM you my number. Oh, but you guys should beware, this guy is MEAN. You'll basically be able to see him, but no touching.
