Pool in the Slope?

Hi-

I am wondering if anyone has suggestions about joining a pool league in the area?

I really don't know how to play, but have always wanted to learn. I have seen a few listings on occasion, but wonder if anyone here has any personal experience learning to play this way or has suggestions for someplace local?

I played for awhile at Park Slope Billiards from a posting on craigslist. They have beginners teams wednesday nites and they'll put you on a team and teach you how to play. New seasons should be starting soon, so inquire with one of the listings.
