I am pleased to announce that the SOS Crown Heights catchment area has now gone 50 days without a shooting.

This success is likely due to a combination of the hard work of SOS, the cold weather and other factors, but I can't say I really care.

I'm just glad that the violence has abetted, and hope the trend continues.

Despite attendees being upside down, my sense is that this event was a success.

A good % of the people in attendance were there to support SOS Crown Heights, as opposed to already being present at Catfish on a Thursday night.

It wouldn't surprise me if Catfish ended up donating a few thousand dollars as a result of this event.

For example, if 100 people spent $25 each, SOS netted $2500.

In addition to SOS literature, attendees received snazzy Brooklynian.com business cards.
