New Development coming to Dean between Franklin Classon

They launched a new website today: http://1000dean.com/
While it is a cool website, it sure does list a lot of "availability". They appear WAY behind filling this space by their original Spring of 2014 prediction.Vacancies = money not earned. -
"Today, redevelopment work is wrapped up at the property, and the building is set for a spring debut. Inspections and occupancy permits are the only hurdles left to overcome.
Already, the building is nearly 30 percent leased."
Is that a lot or a little, at this stage?

Based on the amount of press that tell us how great the office space is, I'd say they aren't resting.
More today:

I wrote that in April 2012.I'd be impressed if he pulled this off:
Construction on the $30 million project is expected to begin in a few weeks and is scheduled to be completed in nine to 12 months.
Likewise, I'd be impressed if he can fill the place with small companies quickly.
...I like being impressed.
It is now April 2014, and they have received their TCO. Tenants can begin moving in today.

Elapsed time 24 months.

They are allowing local economic development groups to use the space for free.

"By the way, have we mentioned that there is space available for lease in this new building we are presently in" -
Today, I got to wander around the building a little.
Unlike the floors above, the first floor of the building is a giant, unpartitioned space.
I fear that they will be unable to secure a large tenant, and that it will simply become the winter home of the Brooklyn Flea.

This article gives me a "please, oh please, rent our space" feel:

Psst, it has become basically an office building. Really needs something to get people into the space. -
BCF will be moving in next week, but that isn't going to cut it:

April 25: Today, I got to wander around the building a little.
Suspicion confirmed. The entity incorporated as the Brooklyn Flea will occupy the first floor:
Unlike the floors above, the first floor of the building is a giant, unpartitioned space.
I fear that they will be unable to secure a large tenant, and that it will simply become the winter home of the Brooklyn Flea. The Fourth floor is less able to accommodate that much foot traffic and remains available. -
When does the Flea generally move indoors for the winter?
And how does Smorgasberg(en) work as an indoor entity - given that many of the vendors cook and would require ventilation?
Mrs. Notsayin posed both questions, and I have no answers for her. -
It has previously been at 1 Hanson Place in the former bank space during the winter months (after November?)
It was mostly flea, and a little food. The food was served in the basement vault level. It was not as fun as the summer version.
Needless to say, moving to 1000 Dean allows them to not have to pay rent and to compliment the beer/food hall. It was the original plan, then they scored 3rd Ward, then lost 3rd Ward.... -
"And, come November, the Flea will have a new indoor home next door at 1000 Dean St."
