That really big parade on Eastern Parkway for Orthodox Jewish kids: May 18, 2014. 10 AM
As a result of living west of Kingston Ave for the last 10 years, I had only really heard about "a big parade for Orthodox Jewish kids", but never actually witnessed it. Last year, that changed when I saw flyers advertising it.
Despite not being Jewish or a kid, I made it a point to go:
It was quite a show. I doubt I could do the event justice here, but imagine Eastern Parkway closed to traffic and filled with around 25,000 school children dressed in matching bright orange t-shirts.
If you get a chance, it is worth your while. The organizational skills alone leave me impressed.....
