Cool. I'm in.

“It was a hot mess,” Niles said of the 1914 building that used to house a church. She said it needed a new floor, HVAC system and restructuring work, among other things, “that took a big chunk of our money that we just weren’t anticipating.”Ah, Rachel meant to type 615 Franklin, not 613.That is the property we recently discussed here:http://www.brooklynian.com/discussion/39049/615-franklin-avenue-former-church-near-dean-might-become-a-kids-playspace#Item_7

Oh please let this happen!

I briefly met Fifi and Gwen today when I saw them working on their spot as I was biking home. They said they should be open in a few weeks.

I went for lunch today and it was very good. I had the crab roll. Somewhat hard to mess that up if you have good ingredients, but it was still good. The space is gorgeous, and he owners/employees were all super friendly. Hope this sticks around for a while!

They are in the process of seeking a beer and wine lic, and the CB8 subcommittee supported same.
Hopefully they will get their permit by Sept 15. -
Had the crab roll there, and it was yummy. It was a really cute place...I got transported to some relaxing island for a short while!
-
This place is really good; and I write this as someone who isn't the biggest fan of crab meat. Everything from the bun to the crab is delicious. That said, at $12 per crab roll, I doubt that I will be eating here very often.

NYT wrote a piece on it today:
It usually is pretty full when I walk by.
Howdy, Stranger!
