A farmers market comes to Empire and Flatbush, placing it in direct competition with Wendy's.

Actually it'd be more fitting to say that this farmer's market is in direct competition with the one at Grand Army Plaza.
I stopped by there yesterday. The people are nice. Some of the produce is grown locally in Brooklyn. Selection was a bit small but seasonally appropriate (some tomatoes!, cucumbers, scallions, chard). They really, really want to get the word out and have more people stop by.I'd love to see them stick around. This location is far more convenient for me than any other. -
The Grand Army Plaza one often runs out of popular items by noon. So, there is definitely enough demand on that side of the park.
Hopefully this location will have similar success. -
I overheard a couple of patrons mention that they had just come from GAP.I offered to put up flyers in the lobby of my building.
Howdy, Stranger!
