Previously the lot was used as a place to rent U Haul trucks.
  • I went to this today. Small, but everyone was really friendly. Some people had already left for the day but when I went there were a couple food trucks, some vintage clothes, reversible handbags, cake pops, and a makeup vendor. One vendor told me it can be expensive to get a spot at the more established flea markets, so the goal is for this one to be more accessible to new vendors. After October they plan to move to an indoor space across Atlantic.IMAG1527
  • KateF: I went Saturday as well. Maybe by the end of the day (around 3pm) it had cleared out from when you were there, but when I went, it was beyond small - maybe 5 vendors, selling more garage sale style items (think picture frames, plastic hangers, tupperware, etc. - although I did see the reversible bag booth) and 1 food truck selling pizza. Excited for something Flea-like in the neighborhood but this was a depressing start. Here's hoping more folks come as the summer continues.
  • I wish this was in a different location. Frankly, it is too close to the Bedford-Atlantic armory for me, and I try to avoid walking in that area because I have been verbally accosted by the shelter clients one too many times. Maybe when the market gets bigger, I will feel more comfortable going.
  • I went on Saturday and it's still pretty small. There were about 10 tables maybe: most memorable were hats and t-shirts by Aki Ashe (http://www.akiashe.com), vegan baked goods by Chia Chicks (http://www.chiachicksnyc.com), BBQ sauce by Sunday's Best (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sundays-Best-BBQ/143702998992334), and greeting cards by Black Lamb (https://www.etsy.com/shop/blacklambbk). And a DJ.
  • I haven't been down there yet, but I hope these vendors can get themselves a spot at the Atlantic Antic! :)
