Prospect Place and Classon, 2am Band Practice? — Brooklynian

Prospect Place and Classon, 2am Band Practice?

I live in the converted Nurse's School at Prospect and Classon, and at least two nights a week I'm kept awake by an awful band practice going on from about 11:30pm to about 2am. Often it's coupled by some extremely loud cell phone conversations happening outside. I called 311 and logged two noise complaints, but I doubt any cops stopped by since I could only give them the general vicinity of where the band was practicing in the building, not a direct apartment number, and also I'm sure the cops at the 77th precinct have more pressing things to worry about. Does anyone else hear the band? I called out for them to keep it down, but they mocked me ("Uhhhn, turn the music down, guys, haha") and played it louder.

I frequently hear loud, bad music coming from the small apartment opposite the mailboxes as you walk into 551 Prospect...
  • Is it a terrible, get-up-kids-did-it-already-so-stop-trying band, or just loud amplified stuff?
  • *reviews them on pitchfork*
  • start your own band. schedule practice for, say, 6:30 am. try out the accoustics of the offender's hallway. discover the "sweet spot" in front of their door.

may i suggest as your musical style a kind of gamelon based on the pots and pans your already own? very concept art. very global. very now.

Keep calling 311. The more calls that are made the better. Get your neighbors to call as well.
