According to Rachel at DNA info, it sounds like an investor bought the property with the intention to build on it. I assume that they hope to build on the adjacent vacant lot as well? The owner probably made a significant profit, given that he originally purchased the property for 389k.

However, no building plans or permit applications have been filed for that property with the Department of Buildings.

Payoute bought the building for $389,000 in 2003, according to property records, but it is unclear how much it was sold for. "

I like that the former owner's last name could be pronounced payout.

It would be very profitable if the new owners were also able to buy the building supply place to the left. As a result of having frontage on Franklin Avenue, it is zoned for a pretty tal residential building, and combining the lots would produce a good size building.

Building permit now filed. Looks like it is just for 545 (the grass portion). 4 story building with 8 units on the way.
