From their Facebook feed:

It's just a few weeks from the 5 year anniversary of our signing the lease for Kaz An Nou. So much has happened for us in those 5 years, and the neighborhood is barely recognizable (see pre-Barclays Center pic from when we first opened- remember when Freddy's was there?!). When we approached our landlord mid-lease to discuss plans to expand our business, we were ignored and that has continued for the last couple of years. It became obvious that we weren't welcome and we made the decision (as if we had a choice) to not go to battle for a lease renewal. We are very proud of the success of Kaz An Nou and owe so much of that to our amazing customers- YOU!! We are excited to move on to our next adventure (after some much needed time off), and hope that you'll stay in touch via our Facebook page, and feel free to drop us an email [email protected]. We'll keep both active to pass along any news and new ventures.

Our last day of business will be Sunday November 23rd, so please come for dinner before then!! We're also toying with the idea of packaging our spicy garlic butter (escargot sauce) for sale/take home these last couple weeks, so you aren't left completely high and dry. Leave us a comment if you're interested in that.

Lastly, we will be having an auction for our furniture and equipment on Tuesday November 25th (time TBD). If you're in the business or just want to own a piece of Kaz An Nou, check it out. We had mentioned the idea of a party in the last week of November as well, but at this time aren't sure if/when we'll be able to fit it in. We'll post here if that does happen.

Thank you so much for 5 amazing years at Kaz An Nou. We will miss you!!image

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
  • Why are all the great little family owned places leaving because of greedy landlords. Wonder if this is a Pintchik property. How terribly sad to lose the only little gem in our area. I loved Kaz An Nou for 5 years. I hope they take some time off and find another little space to open up again in a larger venue. I will definitely stop by and say goodbye. I wish them all the best of luck.
  • Oh no. I love that place. This is very sad.
  • Kaz An Nou, NOSTRAND AVE is the place to be! Come to us!
  • definitely a loss for the neighborhood. i stopped going the past year because every time i tried to go for dinner they were closed, and they tend to not answer the phone. but ill miss that chicken entree and pear appetizer. hope they land somewhere else nearby.
  • I wonder if they could set up in the small space that was Chavela's on Classon, or one of the other available spaces on Classon.  If you're looking for a bigger space, The Classon may become available.  I have no idea what their deal is, but it doesn't look good.
  • I really hope they move east. This restaurant is wonderful.
