Nov 17th: Visioning Session at the Eastern Parkway Branch Library — Brooklynian

Nov 17th: Visioning Session at the Eastern Parkway Branch Library

The Eastern Parkway visioning project will help the Brooklyn Public Library better understand how to improve its services at the Eastern Parkway branch library (corner of Schenectady Ave and Eastern Pkwy). We are inviting community leaders, library users, and all interested residents of Crown Heights to give us your ideas about library services and amenities. How can a new library improve the way it serves young people in Crown Heights? Parents? The elderly? What else would you like to see in a renovated facility? A team from Gensler is going to conduct visioning exercises to make the process more fun and collaborative than your standard community input session. The event is from 6 to 8 at the Eastern Parkway library (Utica Ave 3/4).

  • Come out of the rain this evening and give us your ideas for a new library. After the library closes, we're going to be having a discussion, setting priorities, and having snacks. This isn't going to be your typical community input event.

  • The Daily News reports on the need for investment in our libraries to make them all they can be for their communities:

  • @gilesda - I am not able to make this event, but are you a staff member of the new library?
  • I don't work at the library, but i'm working with them on creating more effective community engagement events like this one. Nothing is guaranteed but we hope this is the beginning of a process that could lead to big changes at this branch and other branches.
