SBS Nostrand/Rogers, the B44

Although launched in Nov 2013, to date, the SBS on Nostrand and Bedford has not fulfilled its potential.

There is nothing "speedy" about it.

I suspect this is in large part to the massive sewer construction project in Bed Stuy, which has resulted in the road not having a functioning dedicated bus lane.

Now, the construction project is finally coming to close.

Does this mean I will soon be able to regard the service as a quick, efficient way to get to Sheepshead Bay or Williamsburg?

Will the NYPD keep cars out of the lane, now that they have some other place to be?

The cops haven't enforced the no parking/no standing rules in CH, where there was no construction to limit them, I doubt the completion of the sewer work in Bed-Stuy will change this. As I suspected when this started, people still park on the blocks where the supermarkets are located, and there is still a rash of cars illegally stopping on other blocks curbside. The street has become essentially one travel lane during rush hour and no one has complained. SBS buses travel unimpeded, local buses mosey along. I expect this will continue.
