current state of delivery pizza?

it's been awhile since we ordered pies other than amorina. love amorina but we need a more basic NYC-style pie on our menu. what's good these days? we used to do Antonio's - is that still the thing?

The new location of Gino's on Washington has pretty good pizza. It is similar to Antonio's

I haven't tried pizza at this particular location, although I used to eat there occasionally when they were located further down Washington, but that was years ago; can't really say I recall how their pizza tastes.

I am disappointed that Patsy's doesn't seem to be opening on Dean between Flatbush and 5th Avenue anymore (maybe they still are, but I haven't seen much work being done . . . not to mention, there's already another pizza place on that block). True, this isn't Prospect Heights proper, but it's one block away and would definitely be within the neighborhood's delivery service area!
  • The "Italian" place on Franklin between President and Union makes a pretty solid brooklyn pie. I usually just get a plain one and it is always pretty good. Delivery is usually fairly quick as well.

I wouldn't ever go eat at this place though, just order delivery.

i continue to use Antonios on Flatbush Avenue. one of the best, delivery always within 15 to 30 minutes. good, fresh and lots of varieties. Meatball parm heros are my teen son's fav. Spinach alfredo is good too.
  • With Pete Zaas closed (for the moment at least), Pizza Moto at Berg'n is currently some of the most righteous pie in NW Crown Heights. Alas, they don't deliver (yet; I'm told they eventually may) - but they've finally published a take out number:

Had a large square with double pepperoni last night, and it was amazing.

    ***not a paid endorsement***

  • Just realized this was on the Prospect Heights board, sorry!

I live on the border and self-identify with both neighborhoods.

I say you're more than good. After all, whether via delivery or via pickup, Berg'n is well within the Prospect Heights service area and, so, your response is much appreciated as far as I'm concerned.

Having written that: while I like the pizza at Berg'n, I can't justify paying what they charge for a pie.
  • For what it's worth, Antonio's is my local go-to for pizza.  Good pies, good slices, close by, and the price is right.

my goto is roma's in park slope. they deliver to prospect heights. i get the fresh mozzarella pie with pepperoni on half. comes to 19.50 before tip.
  • Antonio's fresh mozzarella pie. Yum.
  • Antonio's for a regular pie. I also like the "Cataldo" (lean prosciutto, fresh arugula, shaved parmigiano & olive oil) from Cataldo's on Vanderbilt.
  • The Cataldo is indeed one of my favs too. I don't understand why they don't do garlic knots....
  • One option I haven't seen mentioned yet is Da Nonna Rosa on 7th Ave in Park Slope. I personally love their Nocerina specialty pie, but we often get cheese, margherita, sausage/black olive and pepperoni pies there too.
  • I like the regular cheese pies from either Antonio's or Pino's (in Park Slope, but they deliver, at least to my corner of PH), and the grandma pie from Roma is excellent.
  • No one has mentioned Rosco's on Franklin?  I really like their pies.
  • Love Roscoe's! We have never had pies delivered, eating onsite is much more entertaining and they have good music! However, the red wine ain't so good.... Good beer though!

  • Antonio's is solid old skool pizza. My BF loves their regular pies but I'm partial to the thin crust Grandma slice.

    And, Patsy's has officially opened!
  • !!! Hopefully they deliver???
  • I'm nearly positive that they will.
  • I hope and would believe so. My father bought from them yesterday (pick up order) and they told him that there was a delay in opening because of problems with the sprinkler system.
