best eyebrow threading and massage place?
hi. any place around PH does the great and not so expensive eyebrow threading?
i used to go one in williamsburg but this russian lady left the place and ever since then, i haven't had it done.
for massage, i usually go to china town but am wondering if any place near me does a good job.
i appreciate your info.
thanks.

i would kill to find a good eyebrow threading place in the nabe, but alas, i haven't yet. i just go to a place in the financial district where i work that does threading for $7.00. there's a massage place on 5th ave called D'mai Urban Spa - they also do other things like manicures, waxing, etc.

I go to DeMai for my massages. Apparently the person to request is Micah (a guy). Be sure to ask for a private treatment room-- I went once for a massage and was unpleasantly surprised to discover I was going to share a room with someone else! Stupidly I didn't speak up, and had to listen to someone else getting massaged teh whole time... not relaxing at all.
They do have a really nice ambiance, and there is a sauna that you can use before or after your treatment. -
Does that threading hurt?

Wow, it has never occurred to me to just go and get a massage for the sake of getting a massage. I must get, uh, up to date on this new ProHo lifestyle!

I only get massages to end war and hunger. You ProHo people disgust me! :P :P :P -

it's hurts a little, but not any worse than a wax, IMO. -

When someone gets you a gift certificate that you must take advantage of?

why not just find a guy or girl with big, strong hands?!
that reminds me of one of my favorite movie quotes as a child "they look like big, strong hands, don't they?" -

if you can name that film, i'll spot you five (5) point in table tennis at the next smackdown!!! -

big, strong hands don't make you a masseuse! i hate when you go to the manicurist and they throw in a free 1 minute massage while your nails are drying; I usually spend the first 15 seconds wincing in agony before I shoo them away. -
big, strong hands and a sensitive touch?! :?

Love the movie, hate the song.
:x :x :x -
so, where would one find nice oils for home massages?!

Subject: best massage
For a quickie massage, my favorite treat is the ten dollar chair massages offered at the nail salon on Union Street a couple of doors down from the Tea Lounge in Park Slope. I confess I've become a bit of an addict--I duck in at least twice a week.... -
i don't know a place in or around our area, but the best place you can go for threading is Shobha in SoHo. It's more expensive than your neighborhood joint, but well worth it. I'd recommend Smita, but really I don't think you could go wrong with anyone there. Look online at shobhathreading.com for info.

thank you for all of your great info.
