police line on St. Marks between Classon + Grand

Does anybody have any news about the police tape that is sectioning off a huge part of the sidewalk/street on St. Mark's between Classon and Grand? I just walked past it with my girlfriend on Sunday morning around 1:30.... it looks like there's blood on the pavement...

It's really pretty scary, we live a block away. Anyone know anything?

...We just saw "The Lost Highway" at BAM and we're pretty freaked out...

i suggest we all go the 77the precinct community council meeting, voice our concerns and try to get some questions answered,
our councilmember has said that she will be there as well:

I thought the 77th Precinct Community Council Meeting tonight was at the 77ht? 127 Utica Avenue, Between Bergen and St. Marks.

Was that changed?

i believe only the first and last meetings of the fiscal year (sept & june) are necessarily at the precinct, they rotate during the rest of the year.
That is the correct address for this evening

Subject: That police line was surrounding a shooting site!

I posted a blog as a guest the night that happened, Saturday the 8th - My boyfriend heard gunshots from our apartment, followed by men running up st. marks and down classon. After speaking to the cops later, we learned that a guy got shot in the legs. The police we spoke two warned us not to wear i-pods, not to carry cash, and to aviod talking on cells while walking to avoid getting mugged. he also advised us that if we do get mugged, it will most likely be by a group of people rather than one on one. he also asked us "why the FUCK we moved here!" as if it was an absolutely insanse choice. This block is normally quiet, he told us.

Does anybody know about the so- called half way house on St. marks and classon ave? half way between a psycho-ward and real apartments?

as I am writing this there is a line of people on st. marks at classon ave getting frisked by plain clothes NYPD!

Again, did you get the officers name and/or badge number. You should call Insp. O'Connell and report this officer.
