No Sanitation Service?No Trash Pick Up on Thursday or Saturday (regular trash days) on Dean in CHN?

The snow "blizzard" was on Monday, so I am not sure why trash hasn't been picked up during the last 2 scheduled pick up days. Any ideas?
We are in central Crown Heights North....Dean between New York and Kingston....what's up sanitation???

    Every winter we get one snow week that causes something like this. This time around everything shut down for the blizzard on Tuesday. Because sanitation also handles snow plows and salting, they had hands their hands full talking care of the roads and sidewalks as subways/streets/school and refuse pickup was shut down for the storm. Then, unfortunately, a small second snow fall caused delays in the trash pick up later this week. However they are working all weekend and nights to catch up.

    Our trash finally got picked up over the weekend. Great, because there is more snow coming tonight and tomorrow.

    With yesterday & today's snow, I'm betting pick up will be hit and miss. My block still has last weeks recycling on the curb.

    If snow is coming and trash hasn't been picked up, its better to take it off the curb if you can. If it gets covered by snow, it's likely to break open and then it's just a mess. Sanitation will come by eventually, once there are 3-4 days of no snow.

    I haven't had pickup since at least January 22nd.  There is no way any of that stuff is coming back into my home, even if I did have space for that much. 

    At first, I did bring the garbage back in, but after 2 misses, I gave up - Just too much, and now, too messy.

    Southeast, bringing it back inside is a big no. I just meant if you can, take it off the curbside and put it back in front yards, or in enclosed trash areas (for multifamily buildings). My elderly neighbor was scrambling over a curbside snowdrift and stepped on a partially hidden plastic trash bag. Fortunately for her, she ended up merely doing a split and damaging her ego more than anything else. But those bags on top of snowdrifts are really attractive to birds and other small animals looking for a quick meal after a couple of days of heavy snows.

    Oh; yes! I definitely try to keep it contained so it doesn't pose a danger.
