Aita Trattoria. 798A Franklin, between EP and Lincoln

Formerly known as Pacifico: http://www.brooklynian.com/discussion/comment/559312#Comment_559312

Grand opening on 3/12/2015 by one of the former owners, who will now run it as an Italian restaurant. As discussed on prior thread, the operator already runs other italian restrurants and owned a majority stake in Pacifico.

A photo I took of the strip in 2012:

    yup.

I suspect some of the prior employees survived the changeover.   Here's some opening night press:  http://ny.eater.com/2015/3/12/8199835/aita-trattoria-open-crown-heights-pacificos
  • I wonder if some of the middle eastern decor from the restaurant's original iteration will still be there when the owner decides to change his place from a taco joint to a ramen shop in 2016.
  • I ended up going Friday night with my friend. We were on our way to our original destination when we stopped to look at the menu and were tempted to stay. It was surprisingly busy. I like the slightly updated decor. Feels bigger and brighter with large mirrors. We had two pastas (shrimp for $16 and farro pasta for $12) and the octopus appetizer ($12). Pastas were a hit. Octopus was fine. Prices were decent and comparable to Cent'anni. Complimentary amaretto after the meal. Friendly service. Varied, but not too overwhelming menu. Inventive Italian. I think it will do well.
  • The New Yorker reviewed the original Aita last year:
