Save Our Streets (S.O.S.) is seeking donations for Talent Show raffle
The Annual "Stop Shooting Start Living" Talent Show is fast approaching! We are seeking donations from local businesses to raffle away at the show. Gift certificates or small items are welcomed!
The talent show is March 28th and admission is free. Everyone is automatically entered into the raffle. It is a great way to connect more local residents with local businesses and everyone always loves prizes!
For more info, email dayh @ crownheights.org or call 718-773-6886 and ask for Heather or Marlies.
Thanks in advance!

As a result of attending past talent shows, I can attest that this is a really cool event.
SOS Crown Heights recruits youth from its catchment area (the area formed by Kingston, Atlantic, Utica and EP), and then helps them practice a routine for the show.
The prizes will go to the winners of the show, as well as attendees who win the raffle.
Some years, as many as 300 people have been involved in this annual event.
Donations from businesses outside of the catchment area are certainly welcome.
...Tinto Cafe on Nostrand recently held a fundraiser for them. -
Talent recruitment has begun:

Donations and prizes are still being accepted. -
I have been told that lots of talent showed up on March 14th, and that the 2015 “Stop Shooting Start Living” Talent Show remains on track to take place on Saturday, March 28th from 3:30 - 5:30.
Location: PS 289

The “Stop Shooting, Start Living” S.O.S. talent show is a chance to showcase singers, rappers, dancers, drummers, poets, actors, and many more talented members of Crown Heights and Bed-Stuy, all united to stand against violence.
In addition to great entertainment, members of the S.O.S. team lead the audience in anti-violence cheers and raffle off prizes from local businesses and restaurants throughout the event. View a video of the 2014 Talent Show below.
Admission to the Talent Show is free with a ticket.
To pick up tickets, contact Jazzi at [email protected] or call 917-244-7185.

Do you know if they are still looking for donations?
-
You could probably show up to the show early with gift certificates, and give them to Jazzi or Heather.

Thanks for inquiring! We have a good number of raffle prizes thanks to our generous neighbors, but always welcome more! We will have a raffle at this year's Kingston Ave Fest as well -- May 16 mark your calendar!
