EDC finds a new provider for kitchen incubator after the collapse of 3rd Ward
Longtime readers may recall that a kitchen incubator, funded by EDC and operated by 3rd Ward, was part of the original plan for 1000 Dean:

Then, 3rd Ward had an epic collapse.
In response, 1000 Dean moved the Brooklyna Flea into the space that 3rd Ward was to occupy, and EDC looked for new vendors and locations to run a kitchen incubator.
Today, EDC announce that the kitchen incubator would be located at the former Pfizer plant and announced the vendor:

So sad that Crown Heights lost the kitchen incubator. Though in fairness, that Pfizer Plant area needs it a lot more than we do. Though I feel bad for anyone who has to rely on the G train to commute to the new incubator...their lives would have been much easier in Crown Heights.

3rd Ward was going to use the incubator (1000 Dean) to host events: galas, conferences, weddings, etc.
Pfizer isn't that inconvenient if you are a member of the public and only go there for said purposes.
The concept strikes me as a publicly funded, affordable culinary - hospitality school.
In light of how few such programs there are, I am all for it.
I'd rather pay for it than have people blow their money at the for profit trade schools that are advertised on the subway. Those often result in merely lots of debt.
Howdy, Stranger!
