1310 - 1318 Atlantic Ave @ Nostrand - Construction?
Hi all, I'm a new poster but I've been following the boards for awhile and am so grateful for the intel you provide on the neighborhood!
I'm curious about the unused warehouse on Atlantic Ave between the Best Western and Nostrand Ave. Last year they did some significant work on the roof, removing all the skylights etc, but today I noticed scaffold going up in front.

This is across the road from the proposed new apartment building at 1247 Atlantic, underneath the LIRR ramp Eastbound.
Anyone know what's happening there?

Nothing real exciting.
They have permits to erect scaffolding to do general repairs:

Thanks for that whynot_31 -- I'm pleased, actually. We're on Pacific and already heartbroken that the proposed 10 story communist style block at 1247 Atlantic will take out our views of Midtown & the ESB. If this was going to be a demo/rebuild, it would kill all views of downtown too. As an ex-pat Aussie, I'm kinda in love with those views... they're the reason I bought here half a decade ago. I suspect it's inevitable, but I'm not ready... yet!
With the new bars and eateries, so too comes the highrise movement, I suppose. Quid pro quo, and it will clean up that desolate stretch of Atlantic near the LIRR. If only they'd stay at around the same height as the others in the area.

Update on this post: seems like a pretty major gut Reno, and word on the street it's owned by the Best Western Arena Hotel. Perhaps adding rooms, or parking?
Howdy, Stranger!
