Perseid shower - anyone go to Prospect Park or other dark place last night?
Did a quick search for "Perseid" on the site and found a thread from 2010 that suggested that the meteor shower can be seen from Prospect Park, understanding that even though last night was the peak, there is still plenty to see. Did anyone go to Prospect Park, Brighton Beach or Marine Park -- or somewhere else in Bklyn last night? Is it worth checking out tonight?

Ms Whynot and I rode our bike to Prospect Park around 9 PM, but were unable to see any meteors.
We did, however, learn that the movie Happy Feet was being shown and that the cartoon penquin was able to escape being eaten by its sea lion opponent.

Wasn't there still a fair amount of light in the park with the movie and Willie Nelson at the bandshell? Anyway, it sounds like you and Ms Whynot had a nice evening even if you didn't see any meteors.t think you have to go later (after midnight). I'd like to try to see them but want to make sure that wherever I go, there are going to be others around.
