  • Good Morning!

We are still adding tablers to the roster for the event. Would Brooklynian be interested in tabling?
You can pass out info and encourage people to join the conversation here, and we also ask that all tablers have an interactive activity for passersby. Since it is a back-to-school themed event, perhaps Brooklynian could come up with some school related games or coloring sheets, a quiz about neighborhood trivia with little prizes, or provide helpful info for older people trying to go back to school?

We (?) might have some talented readers who could do that, but all I can really promise is that we (?) would publicize the event and the Crown Heights Mediation Center's need for such volunteers.

    We'd do that by:
-Pinning this thread to the top.

-I would jabber about it on my twitter https://mobile.twitter.com/whynot_31/

-We would spam (ahem, comment) in the various neighborhood facebook groups we participate in.

-I would try to guilt/bribe people I know who work in media to give the event coverage, in exchange for the countless unattributed stories they have written based on my jabberings.

In exchange, could you then add this business card in the little space underneath Jesse Hamilton? Or, tolerate me leaving hundreds of them on the various tables that will be at the event?

Needless to say, readers could help in this effort by:

-Bringing their kids to this event.

-emailing [email protected] and stating you would like to paint the faces of neighborhood children, organize hopscotch, make balloon animals, or some other activity.     Then show up and do it on Saturday, August 29th.

-sharing the 2nd version of the above flyer with the internet, whether it wants it or not.

    -etc.
  • Is anyone from Brooklynian interested in having a table at the Play Street to lead interactive activities for children and families and also pass out the Brooklynian cards? If so, let us know so we can reserve you one! We are also looking for general volunteers.Email [email protected] for more info.

Ms Whynot and I will be there and will accept assignments you give us.

BTW, Jesse Hamilton sent out the mailing below to every household in his district.

....making me believe there will be lots of children and families in attendance.

    Action shot: image

I am at work until 5 and then have stuff to do after that, but I do hope you get help you need.

Are the above sponsors just providing $ and supplies? ...Are any of them providing labor?
  • We've been working most closely with Senator Hamilton's office, Uncommon, and Redemption Inc to put the event together and many others have contributed in a variety of ways!
