believe to be same incident:

Brooklyn: Rochester Ave & Lincoln Pl. Male stabbed in @NYPD77Pct near the West Indian Day Parade. Aided removed to KCH in serious condition.

The Daily News usually publishes an article on the day after Labor Day that counts them all.

Needless to say, people object it being attributed to the "culture" of people of West Indian descent.

I am of the perspective that the DN does not have such intent.

The distinction between whether the perps are West Indian or African American is important to those who fear that people will generalize the actions of the individuals to the overall group.

Approximately a million people come to the parade and the various events held over the weekend, so the relationship does not seem very strong.

....however, the weekend certainly has violence as one of its characteristics.
