Prospect heights radio! whoopee!

Hi everyone,
Me and my roomate live in prospect heights and love it. Thats why we do a semi-weekly internet radio show about our lives here, the music we love, movie reviews, science facts and exclusive interviews with friends, neighbors, and locals. we even have a podcast! go to our website www.349.seehownice.org and check it out. we would love to interview members of the community whod like to be on the show, possibly do their own lil segment, have something to say, or would just like to leave us some feedback.
take a look and a listen. :D
thanks
-jordan

  • Is it going to be a "gentrified" radio station? Is there going to be a mix of local urban and hipster culture?
  • nope...
just a silly little internet radio show. go check the site, youll see. we'll put on anyone who has something to say.
  • what the hell is a gentrified radio station anyways? like Krock or something. we're defintely not making any money or selling out to anyone with what we're doing
  • This could be huge. Huge, I tell you.

Is there any way to do a podcast that is composed of songs people here upload? Maybe we could just do it manually and you could produce a radio show out of it?

I love the retro HTML, by the way. I think retro HTML in 2006 is like tab collars in 1996.
  • wait
    and there are prizes?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(so love the picture page, especially the fish tank)
  • nice avocado tree!

Since you are new with postings and this a neighborhood blog, you could use this site as a good means of research for your project.

"what the hell is a gntrified radio station anyways?"
This site would be a great resource for the twisted idea of gentrification and thats what the neighborhood supposedly is.
  • thanks everyone for the feeback so far, and the ideas.
    to answer some questions..

-im not sure of a way for random people to upload songs directly to a podcast, itd be a little tricky. but we could compile a list of some songs and made a lil neighborhood request show. maybe ill start a new thread for it. thatd be alot of fun!
***we will be recording a new show tonite or tommorow nite, so the best way to get some songs up would be by sending a request to [email protected] also, you could send any questions, concerns, etc, and we'll talk about it on the show.***
-thanks for the comments on the pictures...:) we love our avocado tree and turtle tank. its just one more reason to have a radio show.
-the retro look is the only way to do it nowadays, i get so lost on flash sites.
-im still not entirely understanding the gentrification thing? i imagine thereslot of talk about it on this board...so i agree, its a great place to get the word out, and get some ideas about whats really going on in the neighborhood.

by the way...whats up with "impact theatre" on underhill we'd be really interested to hear form anyone about whats happening there. we want ot go by and see a show soon, so we can do a review. when alex went by the other nite to pick up a schedule, he said he saw an elf lady in some rafters looking at him.... im not the least bit surprised
  • Post the requests here too, so we can get the ball rolling.

he wants to know if it's gonna be a bunch of dudes with thick glasses jerking off over the new Yo La Tengo album. Play Laffy Taffy a couple times and you're in the clear.
