you guys have great ideas!!!
/jolts down all the sumlord ideas. -
No heat in my building yet. I've been using a space heater for an hour or two before I go to bed. But then I'm one of those chilly low-blood-pressure gals.

Then make sure to post on your neighborhood message board about it after you hear them having sex through your building's thin walls.... oh, wait- you already did that!

No, I didn't. If you're going to say I said something, at least get your facts straight. :!:
People were talking about this subject and what I said was that I had a friend who came into the landing and heard her downstairs neighbors at their common mailbox (in the hallway) mimicing her sex noises. And that she held her head high and walked past them with a big smile and a hello.
My building has very thick walls and my landlord is 75+ years old and disabled. Thankfully, I've never heard her having sex (the guy who is giving me problems is her son and is (hopefully) just here temporarily. I've never heard him having sex either).

I was talking about armchair warrior, who started posting about his tenants having sex on the day they moved in. -
Ok, since my quote was the last one (and the one you quoted), I thought you were talking to me.
Let's carry on........ -
I hear my heat coming on! Yay.

cause those guys didnt finish unpacking and left all the doors open
. and i close them and left them a message on the phone going i heard strange noises and umm close the door next time lol. -
brrr, my heat is not on yet
when it gets going it is VERY warm in here, but not yet.... -
My heat is on, but that seems to mean mostly an alarmingly loud cacophony of BANG! CLANG! CLANG! BANG! CLANG! from the pipes, which has been scaring the bejeezus out of my cats. I only moved into this place last February, and it wasn't like that then, so I'm wondering how long the "Early John Cage Composition Meets STOMP" thing is going to go on.

It won't stop. Ever. You will have to get used to it. I sleep with earplugs in winter.

That noise comes from an abundance of water in the steam system. There is nothing you can do about it but your landlord can try to have the pipes bled of the water and that should help. -
The radiators need to be tilted back as well, permanently.
-
Hm. As I said, they weren't like this last winter - some noise, but not like this. In my old place, the pipes would make a lot of noise at the beginning of the season and then settle down.
-
Heat keeps going off and on at totally odd times.
-
When my heat is on because it's REALLY cold out, I feel fine. When it goes on and off (on days like today), 68 still feels cold to me. My nose, fingers, and toes are cold (although I usually have socks on now).
Right now my radiators are cold to the touch, but the thermostat reads 68, so he's complying with the law.
I've put both kitties to work by sleeping with one on each side, but that's not enough. -
My pipes stopped banging, so all is warm and quiet and peaceful.
Actually a little TOO warm. But I'm not complaining.
Howdy, Stranger!
