  • NOOOO!!! Evil StarCorp...the voices in my head tell me this is evil! (Please know I am completely lucid, just a "Mr Robot" fan.)
  • I assume they meant to write Friday, September 4th.     ...Friday September 6th won't happen for a while.
  • Yes - for when I don't waant to walk up the hill to Eastern Parkway.

I wonder whether access will be restricted to CUNY people only.
  • I think they could only achieve that if it was located on the other side of the guards.

It sounds like it will open tomorrow.
  • I will check this out at one point.

Too bad they couldn't shut down that segment of Crown Street to convert it as a pedestrian plaza. (Baruch College has a pedestrian plaza now on a segment of 25th Street that is closed between 3rd avenue and Lexington Avenue). Students, et al. can be sitting outside, sipping on an iced coffee...

My school has a Starbucks. Its staffed by student employees wearing Starbucks aparons and is only accessible to those with school ids. I suspect this shall be the case at Medgar too.

However, NYU has a Starbucks and Dunkin Doughnuts that are accessible to the general public. So maybe we will get access to it.
  • As per a Medgar Evers student:

Starbucks is not yet open, and she believes it will be accessible to the public as a result being in the lobby. It is reportedly being constructed "to the left of where the guards are, behind a big black plastic sheet".

She also noted that a new food court has recently opened, but it is not accessible to the public as a result of being on the 2nd floor.
  • I stopped into 1650 Bedford Avenue one evening this week to check this place out. From the guards' station, one would have to basically make a left U-turn to access it. It is right next to MEC's library, which makes sense.

When I had arrived, it was closing for the day. It seems to be an independent café that happens to sell Starbucks beverages rather than a dedicated Starbucks.
  • It sounds like it has hours that tied to the library's.
