What the intersection of Flatbush and Atlantic was like in 1971

    I vaguely remember the existence of some small store by the current SB B41 bus stop at Flatbush and Atlantic.

    One video clip shows an unaccompanied dog taking a dump on the sidewalk. Two things: 1. This video footage was from a few years before New York City enacted the pooper scooper laws. 2. I vaguely remember as a kid seeing a number of stray dogs roaming the city. Somehow those stray dogs disappeared. When I heard people refer to the "bad old days" of New York, I hardly hear anyone mention the stray dogs that ran the streets.

    On another note, the traffic all around that intersection of more than a "bit chaotic", especially if you are a pedestrian or a passenger of the city bus. Another poster and I have touched upon that in another thread.
  • What happened to that big building in the background? Can't believe they demolished that to put up a Modell's and a PC Richards.....
