Shoe repairs? — Brooklynian

Shoe repairs?

anonymous
edited November -1 in Park Slope
I know there were a few of them around years ago, but, don't know if any are still in business. Now that I have decided to be a grown up and stop buying shoes that cost 9.99 and would just be thrown away when worn out, I would like to get some new soles and other protection on my shoes.

Any places still in the Slope that I can go to? Thanks

  • Roman's Expert Shoe Repair on Windsor btw. PPW and 10th Ave (close to PPW and the Windsor St. exit of the F train).

He's closed on Saturday and on anything that even sounds like a Jewish holiday.
  • There's a place on 9th street and 6th ave that's decent. It's run by this older couple that are really sweet.
  • PM Brookfetish. He recently had some shoes repaired and seemed to be really happy with the result.
  • I went to an older gentleman on either 5th or 6th. It's a cramped little place where he comes out from the back after a while. He has like thousands of old shoes on the shelf and I am wondering if they are an artistic display or something. He was lovely but my heels are crooked. Or maybe it's just my feet. The best servive I got was dropping my boots off at the shoe repair at Grand Central. They did a great job.
