A 24-year-old man was hospitalized early Friday after he was shot a dozen times outside a Brooklyn apartment building — and miraculously survived, officials said.

Jonathan Adams and his 33-year-old friend were on Union St. near Franklin Ave. in Crown Heights when more than 50 shots were fired in their direction about 2:15 a.m., officials said.

A dozen bullets hit their mark: Adams was shot repeatedly in the lower abdomen and groin area, cops said.

“Fifty-two bullets rang out. That’s a lot of shell casings and a lot of bullets,” stunned community activist Tony Herbert said after holding a press conference at the crime scene denouncing the violence Friday afternoon. “These kids are going after each other like they’re in Iraq.”

Paramedics rushed Adams to Kings County Hospital, where he remained in critical condition Friday, cops said.

Adams’ friend was shot in the foot during the barrage of bullets on the tree-lined stretch of four-story apartment buildings. He managed to take himself to Kings County Hospital, where he was treated for the non-life threatening wound.

There were no arrests. Investigators were scouring the area for surveillance video of the suspects.

A motive has not been disclosed, but residents said the area is a known drug spot.

“There is constant gang activity and drug activity on that street," one neighbor told the Daily News. "Every year this happens when the weather gets warmer at night. The NYPD will put two cops there for a week or two, then pull them and the violence will happen all over again.”

Herbert said that the shooting was sparked by a long-standing feud between two neighborhood crews.

"A group of males from Franklin Ave. are at war with a group of males from Ebbets Field," Herbert said. "Shootings between the groups have increased over the last few months and we are calling for those involved to end this beef now."

Adams has been arrested about eight times, mostly for non violent offenses such as marijuana possession and credit card fraud, officials said.

As of Sunday, there have been 230 shootings citywide this year, down from 260 during the same period last year, an 11.5% drop. Only two of those shootings took place in Crown Heights’ 71st precinct, where Adams was riddled with bullets.

Murders are also down citywide — by 18%, officials said.
