Here comes another development:
Developer Read Property is planning a massive eight-story apartment building just two blocks from the Barclays Center at 670 Pacific Street, according to a plan exam filed last week. The development will have 86 units and  61,058 square feet of residential space. Kutnicki Bernstein Architects is designing the building.Planned amenities include a roof deck, storage for 43 bicycles, valet parking, recreation space and 65 underground parking spaces. Read is combining three properties at 670, 674 and 678 Pacific, but no sale has hit public records yet. And the DOB has not yet approved demolition permits for 670 and 674 Pacific, both of which are low-rise factory buildings. 678 is vacant."http://www.brownstoner.com/blog/2014/01/rheingold-developer-planning-86-unit-building-near-barclays-center/#comments
In my view, this poster seems to have an accurate understanding of the future.   This area is about to get really dense.I know this is just a local ‘blog’ and journalistic practices are not the same but come on: “is planning a MASSIVE eight-story apartment building JUST two blocks from the Barclays Center at 670 Pacific Street” 8 stories (on a single lot)  is not (and can never be) in an urban environment = Massive Also “Just” 2 blocks!? (from Barclays Center)  – how about 2 blocks from one of the nations largest transportation hub!?  or maybe just leave out the term “just” – because the implication that somehow this is the wrong spot seems ridiculous on its face.Like it or not, Prospect Heights is just getting wealthier, taller and denser.
