Interesting store
Was on Church and Flatbush this morning and saw a pawn shop, I think it was called Pawn Rite, whose specialty was the pawning, buying and selling of used sneakers. I didn't know how much of a market there is for that although I guess they take jewelry as well. With the rent they must be paying there I wonder how long it'll be in existence as there's another pawn shop only about 200 feet away closer to Bedford.

I have seen that store advertised. The shoes are kept new in box, and (apparently) they have values to others that are so well established that they can be used as collateral. A different world. There seem to be several of them

the other pawn shop closer to bedford is in the cutest little bank-like building ever. it's hard to see in this old photo--these days there's no scaffolding
