Unsurprisingly, the house at 1000 Union will be torn down. (Near Franklin)

The brick building on the right will go as well.

We could get 30+ units

Such a charming house. Oh, well.
-
The house is the site of lots of cookouts and late night parties. So, some will be sad to see it go and others will relish the quiet that demolition will bring.

The developer will be HML development, which recently completed this site at 329 Sterling Street in PLG.
As well as this site in Greenpoint: http://streeteasy.com/building/1059-manhattan-avenue-brooklyn -
Re: my above comment about cookouts. This recent article about 998 and 1000 Union mentions the driveway and everything... http://www.brooklyneagle.com/articles/2017/7/31/brooklyn-block-party-ends-guilty-plea-gun-possession

@whynot_31 oh the stories I could tell you about that driveway....things I would prefer not to have a digital trail.
maybe I'll come to the meetup -
This driveway is well known. I suspect the 71st Pct will be glad to see this double lot demolished. It may make it look like their newest policing methods are incredibly effective and the Lt is a genius. Raises for everyone.

http://newyorkyimby.com/2017/08/permits-filed-for-1000-union-street-crown-heights-brooklyn.html "The revitalization of Crown Heights continues apace, and now new building applications have been filed for a site spanning 998-1000 Union Street, one block south of the Franklin Avenue stop on the 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains. The development will rise seven floors and total 23,569 square feet, to be split between 20 apartments. With a generous average size of almost 1,200 square feet, that likely portends condominiums. Fariba Makooi of Fariba Makooi Architects PLLC is listed as the site's architect, although the contact information points to Karl Fischer, and the project is being developed by Gal Nagar of HML Developments. Demolition permits for the existing structure were filed in July."

At present, condo prices in that area are around $850 a sq ft. By the time this building (Brooklynian thread?) is complete, they could fetch $1100 a sq ft. Or, over $1.3M for each 1200 sq ft unit.
