LOOKING TO RENT !
Hi - am a Brit looking to move from her 'this will do for now' apartment in Chelsea into a 'now, this is home and I even have room to cook' in Brooklyn.
Good job, references and all that admin available. Cant bear to go through brokers or live in an anonymous block. Completely respsonsible when I need to be, can make a great cup of tea and will politely laugh at American jokes even though I'm English and can dog sit if needbe.
In an ideal world, would love space, light, outdoor access, reasonable rent and nice landlords.
Any offers please??

i'll give you my landlord's number when my husband gets home (my phone was stolen so i don't have the info now).
Great building, all new renovations, pet friendly, constantly renting.. landlord just took over a few months ago. we've got a tenants association and a great rooftop view (soon to be a garden).
i'll have info soon. The name of the management company is Montgomery Flats, i know that much.
whats your price range? bedroom needs? area of interest? -

Real estate brokers are great people to know. They are the clearing house for great apartments. If you cannot afford their services, that's one thing, but if you're putting them down because you think they're horrible, then I think you are generalizing. PM me and I'll put you intouch with some good brokers.

Brokers do have a bad name, but not all of us are bad! As a matter of fact, some of us make a decent living on referrals alone. I work in Manhattan but live in and love Brooklyn for the same reasons...
I agree with smackdown too though - if you can afford it, a broker is a good option and finding one you can trust is invaluable...
