yes part of an archway filler collapsed onto the sidewalk. this is a shell of a building with no roof. It is owned by the washington temple and is zoned for luxury condos.

According to the minutes from the May CB8 meeting, Washington Temple has plans to turn 1391 Bedford into "workforce housing" with 20 apartments and ground floor retail. They also intend to create 10 units of housing at 33 Grant Square and 7 units at 37 Grant Square.

Good for them. Hopefully they will be able to define some of their members in a way that they receive a preference, and then contract the management of the facility out to a property mgt firm. This building has been exempt from taxes for years, so it does not bother me that it will remain exempt. Looks like demolition may happen without a contractor
