Yeah me too. Old age is creeping up on me and my eyes are starting to go...

I highly recommend Anne Marie McVeigh she's at 36 7th Avenue (in Manhattan just across from Saint Vincent's Hospital). She is an excellent and thorough opthamologist and accepts lots of different insurance carriers. (212) 929-3747

If your looking for a local Opthalmologist I can recommend Robert Amelkin (34 Plaza Street East). If your looking for an Optomatrist or Optician, I too recommend Parkin for location and selection.

Resurrecting this thread...
Has anyone ever gone to Park Slope Optical at 226 Flatbush Ave?
Its, um, citysearch reviews are, um, glowing. But can those really carry any weight? -
I go to Plaza Optical on S. 4th St., near Havermeyer in Willieb. The place is amazing and the guys working there are fantastic. They are sweet and the place has been there forever. Plus, if you ask nicely, they'll show their magic box of vintage frames. Most frames sell for about $50, but are worth a lot more than that. Seriously, they have cool aluminum frames from the fifties with white gold "posts" at the end and they never break.

I've been to Park Slope Optical for the optician, but not the optometrist. Good experience. The guy was very willing to be flexible and work with my insurance restrictions.
My fiance has been to the optometrist there. Perhaps she'll weigh in. -
I have ordered glasses and contacts through Park Slope Optical. My experiences there have been great. They are very thorough, but don't waste your time. They Optician is really knowledgable, friendly, and accomidating as is the Optometrist.
