Mail Problems in Fort Greene Part 2 — Brooklynian

Mail Problems in Fort Greene Part 2

As I mentioned in the first thread I emailed Leticia James about this poor mail service in the area and sent her the link for the article in The Sun. She responded that it was a federal issue and she'd be forwarding my email to Congressman Ed Towns.

I just got a call from someone who works for the man who is responsible for all of Brooklyn Postal issues. They got a call from the Congressman's office asking them to look into it.

Next week, I'll be meeting with our Area Manager (he's responsible for 10 stations including Pratt Station).

I've set up an email alias that I wil leave up until I have this meeting. If you have any specific horror stories you want to relate, I'll be happy to pass them on when I meet with him. If you ask for a reply from me, please look for it here. Please include your address on any emails (or at least say X street between Y and Z) so he'll know which stations are having the problems.

Thanks

  • I'm sending you an email about my missing packages.
    Good job!
  • Very cool! Good luck!
I hope something will happen with this issue. It seems like Fort Greene is not the only area in Brooklyn that has this problem and maybe if something happens here, things will start to improve elsewhere as well.
    Let us know what happened.
  • I'll update after I've met with him. I was told to expect a call from him early this week to meet him @ Pratt Station. Still waiting tho.....
  • The latest is that I'll be meeting Archie Warner (area manager) and the Pratt Station manager on Thursday morning.

If anyone wants me to hand over your notes, there's still time to email me.

    Thanks
  • Why don't you post this info on Brownstoner or some of the other neighborhood blogs.
  • OK, so 41 of you responded to the first thread. 105 of you have looked at this thread. I've gotten ONE email back in response.

So, fine. When I go meet mail guy on Thursday, I'll bitch about my own delivery problems and not worry about any of the rest of you. Actually, since I know for a fact that my block of Adelphi doesn't have a regular letter carrier, I'm gonna tell him that we should get regular service and some other area should get the "whoever finished their rounds first" deliverer.

    Could be you.
  • Got your email, sweet tea. Thanks.

...Easy there, Nathan. Towards the top of this thread I was considering asking my roommate to get in touch with you about our problems getting our lease mailed to us, but it seems maybe you're a little too upset now...
  • queencallipygos,

    1. Yeah I was getting a little pissy there, but a lot of people had whined about the subject and very few seemed to want to get involved in DOING anything about it.

    2. I'll post in .....Improving?? to bring it back to the top so you can see where things stand. Look at that thread, please.
