high concentration of confrontational gentrification posts

ys, you are so full of shit. the whole point of this thread is to point out how counterproductive your posts are towards fostering actual discussion. if you really cared about this issue, you would not spend most of your time insulting people. a little psychology for you: when you insult people, and deliberately put them on the defensive, they aren't going to be terribly receptive to what you're saying, and your message is going to get flushed down the drain. if you really want to talk about issues, do so with a little consideration for the people you're talking to and perhaps people will be able to focus on the content, rather than the conflict, in your posts.
- there is no other issue in this community remotely as interesting or important as gentrification. the neighborhood is changing at warp speed and many issues (restaurant openings, new residents frightened of crime) are direct subcategories of gentrification that would be dishonest to discuss without addressing the overarching theme. [/b]
if you aren't capable of doing that it will soon become very clear that the only thing you're trying to get here is attention. -

okay, name three issues more interesting or important in prospect heights/crown heights. those controversial "free range park slope kids"? as of the rest of you, i don't keep track of usernames, but if you're someone who simply dismisses my posts as nothing more than hostility and insults...well, i'll just let hit dogs lie.there is no other issue in this community remotely as interesting or important as gentrification.
This is kind of sad if you really think that way. I don't know which "community" you are talking about, but Brooklyn is the most interesting city in America. Why do you live here?
again, step your posting game up if you want to do young snitch numbers. -

Whatever. I added a poll, which at 1-something in the morning got a few replies, but it was moved to the forum. It's title was What is most important these days? It did include some PH stuff as well as some global stuff, but it seems like it wasn't important enough for us to discuss and was moved to the "lounge" where we, as a neighborhood, have been refused to answer, or post, or do anything we want. foiled again.

PapaSmurf,
Your poll is a perfect candidate for The Lounge, or the Randomstuff/NY Beyond*
If you "as a neighborhood" refuse to post there, that's your problem.
I'm guessing that's what you mean by "have been refused to answer"
And, erm, don't you live in Crown Heights anyway?
*note to Daily Heights: It is seriously time to redo those forum names! -

I wonder if he hi-fives himself after every post because he's simply in awe of his own cleverness. Can't imagine why no one is jumping to step up to this "challenge".Breuckelen wrote: [quote=jgregorie]i agree

You're just tired. End of story. Get a new schtick.
EDIT: you're creepy--do not PM me ever again. -

I'm tempted to put up a poll - who is tired of the pointless Breukelen posts, all name calling, little substance? But these stupid polls-to-bitch are beyond tired, so I won't.
How many people are getting creepy PMs from this guy anyway?
Add something to the discussion or STFU already.

Oh...poor pitu, do you need some attention? Where you abused as a child? What is really creepy to you? -

Wow. That child abuse crack is pretty fucked up, for one. -

I got a couple. Honestly, I'm curious about how many people have gotten PM's as well, because I think that if the ones I got are any indication, he wants to have discussions via PM instead of here on the boards is because he thinks he can be even more vitriolic and hostile when it's not being seen by everyone on the board.
Not cool. -
I just got a "why are you a douche?" PM from him...
very inspired. -

wow. we're dealing with the emotional maturity of 5 year olds here.
very inspired. -
We got a complaint about the maturity and tone of one of Breuckelen's posts in this thread. I agreed with the complaint, so I put the account on "time out". In response, Breuckelen requested that his account be canceled. We will accommodate that request.

Right across the Avenue from your neighborhood. Remeber 50% of Washington Ave is in Prospect Heights, while the other 50 lies in Crown Heights. I'm pebbles across the line of that other 50%. Are you saying that I don't belong? If so, you'd have to say that to about 50% of those who post on this forum, wouldn'tcha?
Why fuck with me, eh? -
yep its official
this board is now a craigslist rants and raves clone
it was fun while it lasted -

I don't know that that's completely fair to say. What would you like to be seeing done differently?
