J J Byrne Park- not as good as Caroll Park!

Even though I live right around the corner from JJ Byrne Park (the park near the Old Stone House in Park Slope, I find myself walking 20 minutes to Carroll Street Park in Carroll Gardens when I want to bring my 2 year old son to a playground. The people all seem so much nicer, the park is cleaner, and there are more toys, games, activities, etc.
What is up with that?
