VOTE?

wow, I'm the first "already did" response. that's just crazy!
-
Within the hour, I'll be able to say the same
-
We should have a follow-up poll tomorrow to see how many of the "will do later"s actually voted!
-
since it's bound to be a ghost town at any time of day, I'm less worried about getting to the polls this time around
which makes me a "later"
ps
Anybody pay attention to what the turnout was for the primaries this year? I'm vaguely interested to know how that compares to how many people vote today. -
There's an inherent bias in this poll, because people who are not voting out of apathy will probably be less likely to answer the poll, whereas the voters are probably more likely to answer it. :-k

I'm the second! Sad. Get out there people!!! -
I just got back.
I was #142 in my book. They said turnout was high as it sometimes takes them until 7 or 8pm to get up to 100 at each table.
I can't change my board poll, but I was one of the "will do later" and now I am "yep" -
i didn't register to vote in bklyn, i've only lived here for a few months. I was planning on voting absentee for Chicago races, but after overseas votes didn't get counted for the bush-kerry election when i was out of the country... lets say im a little disillusioned.
well thats my excuse for being lazy on it to.
no apathy or principal.. just laziness, which is embarrasing for a polysci minor who used to have a political liberal college radio show (pre airamerica) -
i'm #4!
i'm #4!
i'm #4!
found it hard to pull the lever for Hevesi. so i voted for anybody but :-$ -
FYI, PS9 has quite a spread--not just the usual bake sale, but also hot food. Hopefully there will still be some available for dinner-time voters!

Interesting. I have no problem with Hevesi -- I think he's a rather rare career pol that does a good job.
The thing about getting his sick wife driven around is unimportant to me.
hmmm. I'm going to make this a thread in Bklyn Politics...

Voting is fun!

Agreed on Hevesi. I don't much care whether he used my money to cart around his wife. In the spectrum of ethical transgressions, it's not much to be concerned about. Plus, he's pro-choice, and Callaghan's not, so I'm definitely voting for him. Here's what NARAL has to say about that:
What can an anti-choice Comptroller do to undermine reproductive freedom? The Comptroller has to approve every contract entered into by the state and can audit any recipient of state funds. An anti-choice Comptroller can use and abuse their authority to slow down payments to often financially-strapped family planning providers, engage in aggressive audits that seek to undermine the ability of providers to function and propose changes to contracts that weaken access to reproductive health services. You can be sure that anti-abortion opponents will turn to an anti-choice Comptroller and urge him to use his authority to erode access to reproductive health. -
i was lucky #69 at my polling station at around 12:30.
-
10:00 am this morn. SOOOOO easy in Greenwood Hts./South Slope for some reason. Ft Greene used to be a true bitch of a time. HOURS!
Anyone else have good/bad experiences? -
I was #100 at the polls around 4:30pm.
I voted for Hevesi. I find it hard to get riled up about his current scandal given the alternative. Tho' I was tempted by Jimmy McMillan I resisted.

I was 150-something at 11:30 am.

AP is reporting that Webb won in VA, which means the Dems take both houses of Congress back...yow!
Happy Hour anyone? -
Whoa. Is this really happening?
According to VA law, doesn't Allen have the opportunity to demand a recount, since the difference is only 1%?
This is from CNN:
"A source close to Sen. George Allen says the Republican incumbent wants to make clear he "has no intention of dragging this out." -
Voted absentee, as I spent the last few days doing get-out-the-vote work against the marriage amendment in Wisconsin. We got our asses kicked. So depressing.

Looks like AP is playing mediacracy. The latest update on the NYT article about this is more cautious and gives a range of viewpoints and scenarios. Nothing's official yet.

CNN is calling this a done deal!

Woohoo!
I'm having a beer right now!
EDIT: I just looked this over more closely, and it actually looks like CNN is reporting on the AP reporting on the projected Dem takeover. I'm still having that beer though. This can only be good news. -
So once Pelosi is sworn in as Speaker, if Bush and Cheney are both dead or incapacitated, she becomes President!
I'd say she's got a better shot than Hillary right now.
Now we've just got to figure out how to get Bush and Cheney to go hunting together...
Howdy, Stranger!
