Sushi at Franklin and Dean! — Brooklynian

Sushi at Franklin and Dean!

There's work being done at the corner of Franklin and Dean at the former site of and old construction company. There's a banner announcing the coming of a sushi joint.

Crazy jump in neighborhhod amenities...still sort of pain finding lo-fat milk, bagels and coffee, but we're getting a sushi joint. Hope they're good.

Is this the place the operators of Indigo, (formerly at Dean and Vanderbilt) intend to go? The Daily News article on the recent shooting at Indigo said the owner was moving to Franklin and Dean. Hope all the commotion doesn't kill the move. Indigo seemed to be well-regarded by the posters in Prospect Heights.
  • nah, the banner is up and the sushi joint's gonna be Sushi Tatsu II. I assume they're affiliated w/ the sushi Tatsu on Fltabush.

Don't know where the Indigo people are moving to, though if its on Franklin and Dean I'd guess it is either the small social club across the street from the sushi joint or the church next to the corner bodega.
  • Sushi Tatsu on Fltbush is awful, plain awful. I hope they get some new chefs, as I've almost gotten sick every time (twice) I've tried their food. Ugh.
  • Is Sushi Tatsu near Wing Wagon? If so, then I got violently sick from their food about two years ago and will never return.

Having said that, I' m glad to see that Franklin is getting more yuppie amenities. Bring on the gentifrication!!! (yelled without apology)
  • That is the exact place. Vomit fish sushi. vomit fish bento. Vomit old "free" sake.
  • well, let's all hope that the management of the Crown Heights branch has a bit more integrity on the freshness factor, eh?
  • I lived on dean between franklin and bedford back in the 60's and 70's. That's a huge radical change. I recall a liquor store as well as a grocery store on franklin across the street from the construction co or factory with a lot of smoke and noise coming from it. The demographics of this neighborhood must be changed drastically for it to support a sushi place.
  • although i do agree that Suchi Tatsu is nothing to jump up and down about, i have had delivery a few times and never got sick...i might give them a chance.
