technical help

Does anyone have a minute or two to help me with a powerpoint question? I've looked all over the web and can't find the answer I need.

I've inserted some video into a powerpoint but don't want to play it all at once. I want it to stop in one part and then play another part a few minutes later. How do I set it so that it plays, for example, 0:00 - 2:23 in one slide and 10 slides later so that it plays 3:00 - 4:25, for instance. I know that this can be done with music but not sure about quicktime video.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I tried that but I guess I need software to edit/cut it into parts. I couldn't do it in powerpoint. Thanks for replying though

You're using Quicktime. Does that mean you're on a mac? There must be some free simple video editing software around. Quicktime is an open format, so it must be straightforward to slice and dice.
