Yummy Bagels

Looks like Superior Suds, Inc. has given up on the bagel stand fronting their Flatbush Ave. laundromat. Fresh bagels and dirty socks--how could anyone resist?

This was a bit of a shock, given the limited number of decent bagel sources in the immediate area. Maybe someone's gearing up for Yummy Bagels 2.0? There's a "space for rent" sign out front, but I should have asked anyway...

  • That front joint was pretty shitty. But I use that laundromat.
  • The laundromat was better when they used to offer you a free can of soda with each wash. They'd come around and find you and ask you if you wanted a soda. It was so friendly. I use the drop off service when the laundry pile gets too daunting.

do they charge by the pound for dropoff? do they have a minimum? bubbleworks has a $30 minimum which is INSANE!
  • never trust any "budget" food outlet that sticks the word "yummy" in front of their name. if you gotta tell us its "yummy", that probably means it isnt

I don't know if there's a minimum but i've dropped off what seems like a good 25-30 lbs and got charged around $17. You'd have to work hard to make $30 worth of laundry.
  • We make $30 worth of laundry regularly ...but that's between two of us, I guess.

I used to do it every time- just me. Now I have W+D in my apartment, thank Zeus.

what I'm sayin' is that yummy bagels laundry is inexpensive. There are 3 of us and one of us is a baby, but I've been pleasantly surprised at the low, low price at yummy bagels (for laundry).

    Hi!

    Superior Suds II /Yummy Bagels
    303 Flatbush Ave
    Brooklyn, NY 11217-2874
    Phone: (718) 230-0401

I tried the number, but it is out of service. I wanted to ask if they have delivery/pickup service and get a better idea of what their rates are -- it seems wrong to lug laundry to my parents house in nj to save money, but I'll do it if I have to! Any information would be greatly appreciated

I don't know the number, but just stop by and check out the prices. It's in Flatbush between Prospect and St. Marks. It's definitely wrong to lug laundry to your parents house if you're older than 22.
  • I can so relate to doing "free" laundry at the rents in Jersey but it's just not as convenient as dragging my stuff 'round the corner. I don't know about their drop-off rates but they just upped the machines from 1.25 to 1.50. And the lady who works there while nice, couldn't tell me how to stop the dryer early, all my clothes started to fall out when I went to check on how dry they were!
