Apt for Rent in Park Slope - 1st Street, Floor Thru
A friend of mine has an apartment in Park Slope for rent effective September 1st, and I offered to put it on this message board:
One bedroom (with smaller additional room for office, etc.)
Floor thru (3rd Floor) in a really nice brownstone
1st Street between 5th and 6th
High ceilings, great closets
Dishwasher
Very good condition
Owner indicates that he prefers a single person or couple, as the layout generally does not work in a roommate type situation.
Rent: $1,625 / month
No fee, one month security, available September 1
E-mail owner @ [email protected]. Give him a brief description of your situation and leave a phone number where you can be reached.
The owner is a really great guy, maintains the building really well, and I'm sure he's a great landlord.

I know people who live on that block- it's a nice one. The apartment sounds like a great deal.

It is a great deal. If I was looking for a place I'd definitely scoop it up.

Jeebus! $1,625 for a one-bedroom is "a great deal"? I mean, I'm sure it's lovely and maybe my perception is off because I'm a nonprofit worker, but seeing that kind of price makes me despair about how much longer I'm going to be able to stay in this part of Brooklyn.

It's a floor-through, meaning the entire floor of a brownstone building.
In 1997 I was paying $1,500 for a floor through on 9th Street in Park Slope, and it wasn't even as nice as this one. And even then it was considered 'market price.' -

Plus no fee. That's big savings right there.

Daaamn. I stand corrected!
I gotta get me a raise. -
Hey, thanks to Daily Heights the apartment has been rented !! Very cool.

That was indeed a great price. I rent out a 1BR floor-thru in Central Slope for $1800, and now I'm hearing that rents have been rising this summer by up to 20%.
So, that apt was a steal. No wonder it went so fast. -
My husband and I are moving into this apt, thanks to the posting on here. I never said thank you to the person who posted it on here, but thank you! It's so much nicer than anything I had seen in the same price range...I still can't believe it's going to be mine!

I'm very happy for you! And believe me, Eddie is one of the sweetest people on the face of the planet (always a good thing in a landlord, to be sure) and you will most definitely want to kidnap his two dogs ... they are adorable beyond belief.
