apartment searching!

2 24 year old girls need an apartment for May 2007. We currently live in south slope, love it, and don't want to leave the neighborhood, unless we moved into park slope proper. our landlord will only give us a 6 month lease, then we must move out so they can do renovations. any advice on how to find a reasonable place, besides craigslist? figured we should start searching now, the process is not an easy one. we're clean, low key, and friendly

one will have her MA, the other is earning hers part time. If you know of any apartments opening up, websites to search, people to contact, it would be very appreciated! thank you!

What is your budget? Can you afford a broker? Etc. More details would be helpful...if you share some more info, you'll often find people on here who will have a place, or know if a place opening up...good luck!

thanks...I'm new on this site! We were looking for something around $1400. It's on the lower side, but we know it's possible! We'd be open to a broker (as long as the fee is reasonable), but prefer to rent from an owner. If anyone knows of a place opening up, or anything, it'd be appreciated!!
