I don't smoke, but after reading this thread, I'm jonesing. Where can we smoke cigars in public in New York?

  • Well, at the very least, I'm hoping I can smoke them on my stoop. I have hundreds of cigars, and it would be a shame if I couldn't smoke them anymore.
  • the campbell apartment allows cigars i think.
  • Subject: I think..

I think it is Cirque de Tabac, on Watts Street.
  • A friend of mine bartends (or did until recently) at a cigar bar in Manhattan called Merchant's. The kind of place that's frequented by everyone from hookers to Derek Jeter, so, you know...

I've never been, but having lived in the neighborhood, I think that I can fairly say that no one living in PH would ever want to go to a place like that. It is so cheesy!
Merchant's is a place for recently-graduated frat boys and Jersey guys who wanna be players (picture a white boy New Jersey version of RBG).

    It's truly repugnant. REPUGNANT!

2 points at the next air hockey match if anyone gets that reference, by the way.
  • Yes, hence the warning ;)

Her stories from Tuesday nights were truly incredible, though. A sociological experiment in sleaze.

I checked before I offered the challenge. 8)

one hint: it's from an animated show.
  • btw, don't bother googling "animated repugnant" either. I checked that too.

Does Soda allow it? Can we have a PH flashmob drinkfest and smokeout there?

They have a garden and the last time I was there, there were two dudes smoking cigars out back, but there was no one else there. But, I assume it's no big deal, it is outdoors.

I'd be willing to bring cigars to pass out.
