Tracking police activity — Brooklynian

Tracking police activity

I've run across a site thats in beta testing right now called www.bluebrotherhood.org Its meant to be used as a way of tracking police activity (good and bad) around NYC and the surrounding areas, and is seperated by neighborhood and zip code. The first post involves the mobile precinct at the corner of lafayette and bedford. I think its an interesting concept- think of all the times you've heard sirens or seen cars outside your building and wondered wtf is going on- now hopefully you can find out.
A "press release" can be found http://h1.ripside.net/mikemachlin/pressrelease_final.doc there. Please note that I DO NOT own this website or anything like that- I just think its kind of a cool idea. Check it out, peeps
