Bathroom renovation coop — Brooklynian

Bathroom renovation coop

Is it realistic to think that a 5x7 bathroom can get a moderate upgrade for less than $10,000.00? It would be a total gut with all new fixtures(tub, toilet etc.,.) Floor to ceiling tile, crown molding and new shower system. Everyone keeps telling me it can be done. I am sure it can using unlicensed people. My Coop requires that the contractors have to have no less than 1 million dollars in insurance.
Anyone have any experiences or recommendations they would like to share?

  • well say that u r doing it yourself with the help of a handyman. Dunno how the coop will consider that. However its best that u get a good plumber to do the necessary stuff and then get a handyman for the tiling etc or do it yourself.

I have no intentions of doing it myself. All alterations and renovations involving plumbing, demolition and electrical have to have approval or you can be fined. I think I found someone I am in the process of checking his references.

    Thanks
