URGENT: The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer (PBS), Tues at Freddy's
Subject: URGENT: The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer (PBS), Tues at Freddy's
Tony Limuaco is trying to get the word out that the McNeal Lehrer group ("News Hour with Jim Lehrer" on PBS) will be down at Freddy's tomorrow (Tues. Aug 23) at 6:00-ish 6:30-ish "to investigate the impact of the Ratner curse":"Rinse out those softball shirt and represent, or just show up. I'm making a selected set of prints from Sunday's softball game. If you know any of the musicians that have played at Freddy's they should show up too."
He asked me if dailyheights.com could do a Rock Paper Scissors competition... It's too short notice to put on something major. But I can suggest that people meet there spontaneously to hang out, drink beer, and participate in spontaneous games of chance and skill, including, but not limited to, Rock Paper Scissors.

I know it isn't the intention, but I worry that we may be perceived as Concerned Citizens defending Rock-Paper-Scissors.
And please tell me that Red Sox hat remark was a joke... -

Yeah! If anything, we should be supporting D&D, so we can totally alienate everyone!

We can break into Freddy's-related factions - Rock-Paper-Scissors, D&D, Cringe, Spelling Bee, Knitting, etc. and then have a big showdown with plastic light sabers. That should send the right message.

Yeah, "Guest," I was thinking the same thing. But you might play better into the demographics if you're doing something "wacky." -

I am totally going after Lehrer with my glaive. And if that crazy lookin' guy with the bug eyes he has sometimes on his program is there too, I might have to break out the Lucern Hammer. -

Do you have a magic user that can "charm person" Lehrer and make him say "Ratner is a poo-poo head" on the air? -

Ooh, if you ever see my husband around the hood while you're wearing your Sox hat, you'll have an instant new friend!

Um, the Red Sox did in fact have lots of fans before they won, you know. Not that I want to start a big baseball debate, but...come on. -

Yes, they did. My deep felt hatred for them is not based on any Yankees love, but rather having to deal with living in Boaston.
Having said that, the number of Sox fans in NYC has grown exponentially in the last 2 years.
But, you're right. Make meat haiku, not war! -

I, too, will be wearing my Sox hat when I walk around the neighborhood. -
