Some suggestions

....if there is a better way to do this, I haven't figured it out.

I wanted to PM somebody (let's say Q as an example...). I went to a post where I knew he had posted before. I clicked his name hoping that it would give me a PM option. Nope.

Then I went to Memberlist and wanted to find Q. I couldn't just put in Q's name, I had to search by ascending/descending order, then keep guessing at approximately what page he'd be at (should I skip backwards 5 pages until I hit the Qs?) or scroll page at a time.

My two suggestions are:

1) if you see a person posting something, be able to click that user's name and have a PM option right from there (if you click on it, it starts a new post where it looks like you're going to quote that person ...)

2) under memberlist, be able to search user by name.

Am I missing an easier way to do this?

Thanks.

  • Hey Flexi - if you look at the bottom of each person's post there is at button that says PM

I think those Vajajays ruined your eyesight :):)

  • Ha! thanks for posting this twice. I guess my eyesight is FUCKED ;-)

It's funny how you never notice stuff (like when BP said she had an advert on the side of the board and I never once looked at the ads )

That said, I still have to find the person in order to PM them...either by post or by username....right?
  • What I do when I cannot find the post is go to search and search by author. That way you can find a post by the person and hit their PM button
  • As long as you know the handle of the person you want to pm, click on the messages link at the top of the page, click on new post, fill in the form and that's it. It couldn't be simpler unless you had a post right in front of you, and then as Stacey pointed out,you have the pm button.
